    I didn't have any problem. If I remember right, I just put a socket, extension and swivel-head ratchet on them. You may need a bungee cord to hold the alternator out of the way.

    Hi Handy, hope all is well. I have been changing the alternator in my 2003 LE without the 2.4 non turbo while following your method. So far so good, alternator is loose and unwired and off the mounts but I cannot get the lower bracket out so I can drop the motor and maneuver the alternator out. There are 3 bolts to get the bracket off. What's the trick to access the 2 bolts at their top of the bracket? Appreciate your help, thanks!
