Have a question if your not overwhelmed by everyone elses , I put a remanufactured starter in my 04 basic , actually the second new one in 3 days , first one would just click , took it back to autozone and it tested "bad" so they exchanged it for another , same type "Duralast" had this one tested at the store before I left and it tested "good" so I put this one in buttoned everything up , and it starts fine but the starter motor wont disengage after the engine starts , bad bendix spring maybe ? any thoughts?

It would be better to use the camshafts that you have in your engine. There is no way to know which camshafts you actually have in your engine unless you look. I will send you the http of how to identify them. Technically you can use the SRT cams but you would have to clock the camshaft sensor.
    NS PT CAMSHAFTS another idea?

    Hi NitroPT,
I have a 2004 PT GT 5*speed.I bought a pair of used SRT 4 camshafts that I was planning to use as a trade in for the NS PT camshafts. After I got the cams I read a post of yours that said that the SRT cams would not work in the PT Cruiser.I thought that they were the same.
Do I need to start looking for some PT cams to send in or could the SRT cams still be used?
I emailed Thumper for some information on the new camshafts& his reply was that he would not have them for a couple of months .
Any information you could give me would be appreciated .
    Thanks,
    Watchman

Well, Lynn, I think you are appreciated more than you realize. Thanks for getting back to me. I would love to see that Mini - I love those cars, now especially yours!!! Yeah, I'd say you'd get a little more rubber with your '57 than the one I had (but though stock, it still had a good fun factor in driving it.) Keep the posts and replies coming. Being retired I have the time to check the forum any time I want! And thank you for wanting to befriend me, Lynn. I do consider you my friend, too. As old as they are my two PTs are doing well. The '02 just turned 105,000 and is doing quite well. I have a little money coming to me within a couple of months or so and will get the timing belt and all the other goodies done at the same time. '05 CD is stuck. Funny in that it will play anytime I want it to, but you know tiring it is to hear the same CD over and over??? Anyhoo, looking forward to seeing you on the forum! Again, we all thank you for your time, Lynn. You ARE highly appreciated.

    thecabinguy,
Thank you so much for the kind words. You posted when I was just talking to a couple of other member friends and saying many times I feel like I am wasting my time trying to help member with their PTs. Also my personal thread seems to get very few comments anymore except from my personal friends so I wonder at times if some things I do are not very interesting?

So thanks again for making me feel appreciated!!!

The 57 Chevy is a 512cu.in. with Brodix aluminum racing Heads. Never Dyno'd it and I could never get it to run quicker than mid 12's. NO TRACTION! LOL
The gauges are in the MINI. It was mainly for fun of having all the gauges. They do all serve a purpose and mostly helped to develop my parts line of Performance MCS SC parts.
You should some of my other past cars. LOL

I have tried writing to you 2 times already in this visitor's spot, but my damn computer after a while redirects me someplace else and I lose what I was writing. So I guess some of the stuff I already wrote will be lost into cyberspace somewhere. But I will try to type fast in saying that I am so impressed with you, Lynn. Your knowledge, abilities, and experience are just mind boggling. I'm was good as a backyard mechanic on simple things that's been about it. Your cars are amazing. What size big block is that in your '57? What are the stats? In your PT how can you drive and yet watch so may gauges? Anyway, I wanted to tell you you are really awesome and I SO enjoy reading your posts and your replies. You have taught me things I never knew. Thanks.

Hi Nitro, here is a post I put on the general non PT discussion and was advised to contact you directly. Anything you can suggest would be welcome.

    Regards

    Hi Guys

My wife and I are visiting the US for a holiday driving down PCH from San Fransisco to LA then out to Williams to see the Grand Canyon and finally to LV for a couple of days.

We have PT each and interested to see if there are any meets arranged for Sept 15th thru 23rd September between SF and LA. Also are there any car parts places worth a visit (not that I can carry any parts back on the plane).

    Tony
