to be collectible i would assume it first would need to be a classic, aka 25 years or older..

No it would not have to be a 25+ year old Classic to be Collectible...

Think Collectible Investment and the older the more valuable it becomes...

Value structure would be

1. PT Turbo

2. PT Convertible

3. Special Editions

The more Original, no mods, the higher value...

That article said the PT convertible is not as valued because it is considered a "chick car". Well pardon the f outta me. I'll have my wife kick that guys ass, and when she's through i'll finish up.

I would think being a "Chick" car would increase its value …Having All Around Appeal...

Aside from its unique Chrysler history I think its predominant Retro 1930's-1940's look is what makes it so popular/collectible...

I also really like the Panel Truck conversions a lot, The PT's rear end styling really lends itself to a Panel Truck style/look, did Chrysler ever make the Panel Truck an Edition or were they strictly Custom aftermarket ?

The Chrysler PT Cruiser was definitely Retro as well as Ahead of its time when brought out in 2000...

A friend of mine was one of the builders / fabricators of this beauty. Said the engine cost 60 grand alone. Note the stretched front fenders, the car was built from a convert and a 4 door. Spectacular
