If you have a Gen2, here is a grille option that is still available:

This was the grille setup that came stock with the '09 Dream Cruiser Series 5.

I got it off Ebay and they still have 5 sets available:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-NOS-OEM...sid=m570.l1313

I made them an offer and they accepted $230.

When they were still available through Chrysler, both parts totaled almost $700.

Some of the grille overlays that are available require some modification to the stock grille, then are applied on top.

This setup completely replaces the upper and lower grille and they are thick, substantial metal.

I really like how the lower section shows up, as with the stock black plastic grille, you don't really see it, but just a big hole.

Hey Rick, Chuck has an '01. If I remember correctly he at first wanted to keep his cruiser stone stock, however, I know how tempting it is to want to personalize the old PT's.

I think I noticed some chrome fog lamp mounts on the bay to replace the stock black that would work well with the DC grill set. JFYI

Several comments FWIW...

I will not be able to make the Woodward Cruise unfortunately...

I bought a set of the Chrome strips instead of the Billet Grille, will let you know how it goes, have heard both good & bad comments...

Yes I am keeping my 2001 Inferno Red PT as close to Bone Stock as possible...

I want to post some pictures but keep getting a notice that my file exceeds the forum limit ie 972 vs 47...?

I am contemplating replacing the Watts Linkage to obtain a smoother ride...

I feel the Rckstein Custom Grille detracts from his Gen 2 PT, but that Electric Blue is amazing...

You can use Imgur to post pics onto the forum. It works great and is free!

I had contemplated about using a combination of the new grille set up for the lower and using the stock upper grille, that would give me this look:

To make your Imgur pics show up in your post, without someone having to click a link, once you upload to Imgur, hover over your name in the upper right hand corner of the Imgur website and a drop down menu will appear, click on Images and that will be all the pics you have uploaded. Click on the pic you want to upload then click the blue Copy box under Direct Link. Then come back to your forum post and select the Insert Image icon:

Paste your Imgur image in the box that appears.

Then to make the image a good size for this forum, put a "l" (lower case L) just before the .jpg and this is what you will get:

Without adding the "l" before the .jpg and this is what you get:

Might sound a little complicated, but once you do it a few times, it's very easy!

Chuck: Good choice, the more I look into the low dollar Billet Grills on e-bay the more they look like they don't work on the bottom. They seem to be rectangular pieces that hang on the front of the car. An E&G set sells for $300+ for black or $500+ for chrome.

Rick: After bouncing back and forth, I'm with Chuck, I like the stock upper grill and chrome lower grill best, painting the fog lamps trim or replacing with chrome will finish the look. IMHO

Darrin, What was the name of that burger place on Woodward that you
were talking about ? Maybe I can meet you up there for lunch
Tuesday or Wednesday. Lot of stuff already going on.
