Default 2006 Trunk constantly releases

Hello, my name is Bill, have a 06 PT 4 door that most often the trunk releases when driving or standing still. Its loaded with all power and has a remote (2).
Once I lock the car when inside it seems to eliminate the problem.

Any help would be appreciated to help this mechanical challenged guy.

Welcome to the forum

I would suspect that the touchpad switch on the rear hatch assembly is failing, causing the lock actuator to trigger. You can search the forum for a repair on this, or you may need to replace the outside handle assembly if you want to stay stock.
