It should. I stuck my engine detail wand in there & broke up all the crap on the bottom( the wand shoots out liquid via compressed air) ran water & cleaned it all out. Then blew it dry as good as I can. No rust..good good. Then I took out the top element. Looked just like brand new. Reinstalled with new O-ring.
The thermostats may go bad thats about it.
I just took the best shower I think since i've been here. All new softner in the machine( I cleaned that out a few weeks ago). The water even smelled fresh.
I'm kicked back, relaxing, & drinking some coffee watching my son play.

Good Luck on the heater and remember all is well that ends well!![?]
I did not know that electric tanks could be fixed as I have always just replaced the gas heaters when they leak! Mine is 15 years old so I should get out and drain the thing before I get in deep rust!! Thanks for the reminder!![^]

Yeah, after talking with people on the phone about my ordeal( more about the rest in a minute). I had 5 people out cleaning their tanks & couldnt believe what was in there. My sister is getting hers done tomorrow.I sent the pics to the people also, that pretty much did it.
I'm telling you. It is not a fun or clean job. It can get very very messy.

Anyway..today. Had the windows open, because of the nice cool brease. Had the AC turned off. Well about 6:30 went to turn it back on.....TIONK, TINK, TINK, TINK. The motor was hitting somethign making a god awful noise...great..time to crawl up in the attic & see whats wrong. Somehow, I dunno how, the ENTIRE cooling unit got turned a bit, enough to tweak it & mess up the motor. Well, I had to take the entire thing apart to get the motor out & straightened back out. THEN the rubber hose for the water drain( just like the drain for a car) broke...f'en great!!! now I have water running out of it( from what was left in it& the overflow pan, apparently it was also partially stopped up) screaming at my wife to throw up towels. It soaks the insulation, drips through the ceiling, so now i have a soaked POPCORN ceiling & carpet. I had to run to Autozone & pick up some 3/4" heater hose..They gave it to me for free, after seeing what I looked like( DEATH!!!). Got back to the house & put it on. Now all is right. I just need to replace about a 2ft section of ceiling & either sand down the entire ceiling( about 1200sqft) or respray what is messed up & repaint it.
That i'm leaving for when I get back from my trip.
I dont care, if anything else happens. The dog is going to the kennel for babysitting, i'm killing the power to the house & leaving..LOL.

That was funny as hell thanks for sharing.

I had my L5 S1 disc taken out a year ago so I know what it's like to be doing manual labor with a bad back.

I was laughing so hard and then I realized it was 'cuz I could relate.

OK, this is getting rediculous. Now as of 6ish PM. I have no garage door opener. The sprocket on the inside, the one that rotates the chain, sheared.
It like everything else in the house is abotu 20 years old & they dont make parts for it anymore. So that actually has to be replaced..Joy, Joy.
I have ppics but to tired to post them righ tnow. I just got done packing.

I predict a change of luck soon. (Better, not worse.)

This is all routine stuff but somehow it's all happening at once. If I had the power, I'd make it all go away for you. What I can do is sympathize and say "Man, I hear ya".
