I'm going to the airport with my wife and son who I was dropping off on his way back to college. We go to the designated drop off point and let out my son, wife goes inside to help him check in luggage. No more than 2 minutes a lady cop says, "MOVE NOW OR I'LL TICKET YOU!!" OK, but my wife is inside, she says "if you go in and get her out quick I won't ticket you" so I go in and in 2 minutes we are both out and guess what, a ticket is on my car. I go to find the cop and she started yelling at me to go back to my car. I said to her, you told me you wouldn't give me a ticket if I came right out, she again starts yelling to me to get back to my car, Now I'm pissed. I throw the ticket at her (we were like 15 feet away) she gets on her walkie talkie and calls the entire police force at the air port. Now I'm surrounded. (can you believe this?) 5 cops come over and the head dude tells me he could fine me $1,000 and put me in jail for throwing as piece of paper at the cop. Officer I said, you don't understand, she said she wouldn't ticket me and she did, She set me up. Well I figured at this point, I better cool down, end result, I kept the ticket, no jail, and we drive away. It was entertaining for the people standing around, kind of like we were making a movie. My wife almost had a heart attack. end of story. Moral of the story, cops are always right. Gary

if the sign was posted, she should have just said "no, if you leave your vehicle i will ticket you. if you don't move your vehicle now, i will ticket you." moral of the story, get it in writing OR on video. Gary....next time don't bother losing your temper, just file a complaint, or drop that you detailed cars on the OPRAH show...girls love oprha [|)]

COntact the police department and file a report for the false ticket. get a request from them for tape from the airport. ( i gurantee they will have tape of it). See what happens then. I bet the ticket will go away.
I work LP and see this kind of stuff all the time.

Yes, it's really annoying how dropping off/picking up at the airport has become even more hectic than it ever was. I can understand the not leaving your car rule, but you can hardly pause before being chased away - supposedly in the name of security. If I were a suicide car-bomber, why couldn't I detonate rolling buy at 5 mph? Why does pausing to pick someone up pose a risk????
Some twits, when put in a uniform, feel a sense of power that they get off on....

We're having to deal with the first generation of female cops and they are a real pain in the ass. They try to overcompensate by being hardnosed about everything. It will take another generation before they stop trying so hard to grow a set of balls.

I had a similar situation except for quite the oposite outcome when I was transporting my wheelchair-bound mother from Florida to Reagan National Airport (Washington DC). It was freezing out so I couldn't leave my mother on the sidewalk as I took a shuttle bus to the car. So I asked a cop if I'd be able to leave her in the terminal and come back in to get her once I had the car.
Of course by the time I got the car, that cop was no where to be found. As I got out of the car to go in and retrieve her, another cop stopped me and was quite serious as I was about to cross the road. The difference here though is that once I explained it to him and pointed her out (throught the window), he went in and got her for me. I have found that most people bend over backwards to be nice when wheel-chair bound persons are involved. That may have been what made the difference here.

It's a tuff call but they are the law and if you decide to talk back you should be prepared for the worst.
