Espresso,
I've replaced a whole heck of a lot of parts on my Vette, including all the bolts that keep everything together and one bolt that will never EVER come out in one piece (but will worry about that one if I ever have to rebuild the engine)but I've never had to take off the Crankshaft Damper. I take it, that the bolts that secure it aren't coming loose or everything is rusted together. I found that if you walk away from a project like that and come back later (with a bigger hammer ) or the next day, something usually works itself out. Hopefully yours will.

I've been building this thing for 2 years. Every nut & bolt has been off of it. I'm putting it all back together.
You DO NOT want me to list everything that has been replaced. The short list of what hasnt... front control arms, steering rack, the dash & body. Everything else was...redone rebuilt or replaced. I've walked away from this car more times than I can count. But today was just...bad. This is a Mass car with 150K miles on it., so ummm yeah, there WAS lots of rust. If you want I will list what mods & all it has done. |

I know. I used to restore cars for a living so I knew what I was getting into. The car is gone once it's finished anyway, so the sooner the better. But 2 years in the making. All of it done by myself( except machine work). It's going to be a beast. 383, 4.11 rear, 4+3, poly bushings cross drilled & slotted rotors, all new interior & weather strippign, gas tank, 32 & 28mm sways, ect, ect...
I'm buying a 87-93 5.0L vert stang. I've been wanting another for quite awhile & found a 93 vert over on the east coast( Ft Lauderdale area) for a killer price so I may pick it up when we head to Orlando on the 1st. |
