Default Hot Rod Power Tour

Just got back from the Hot Rod Power Tour. Wow, what a great event. 1000 of us (car enthusiasts) gathered together to take on the highways from Kissimee (near Orlando) to Englishtown Raceway in New Jersey. A great week. Here's a link to the pictures I took during the tour in case anyone's interested.

Gonz,

Would have liked to have met up with you 2. It would have been hard though. Each event saw not only the 1000 long haulers (guys that were going the whole distance) but another 1000+ plus cars from the areas around each event. I was meeting up with some of the guys from the Corvette Forum at some of the events and only managed to see 3 of them during the whole time.

Tburg,
The mirror sticker was being sold on the Corvette forum quite awhile ago. I went back to check on my old posts and the "link to purchase" was no longer in service. Sorry.

Deederz,
Yea I beat the AMX, but my times weren't actually exciting. Best I could manage was 14.2/97. I have the wrong rearend gearing (2:59) for strip action, but it's great on the highway...mid to upper 20's cruising in the 70-90 speed limit. Almost 500 miles on 3/4's of a tank. A lot of the Hot Rod's on the trip were stopping once or more for gas between cities. As it was, I spent $358 for gas for the tour and the trip home. Then you add hotels for 7 nights and food and souvenirs and it adds up.

I talked to the owner. He made the car himself. There was a concept 53/54 Vette Nomad and he had pictures from magazines in his front window. He copied it as best he could with every detail he could find except the tilt front end which for some reason deceided to do and step away from originality.

While I was having one of the tech look at a small problem (Tech's supplied FREE by GM Performance Group) the 53/54 Nomad was beside me with fuel pump problems.

I think it was a real 55 Nomad with a 53 corvette front end...
I've made myself a Station -wagon on a Corvette basis, called "Speed-Wagon" [8D]

(photoshop of course)
