YOu might also want to search for some free downloads called Adware and Spy-bot. As you surf and visit sites they load up your computer with little programs so they can track you and know what everyone is looking at. I mean there are a LOT of these little buggers. You can clean these out with these programs and it may solve your problems. My neighbor's computer was having all kinds of problems until I intalled them on hers. I have used them on mine for a long time. I clean it up a couple times a month. When I bought a new computer a couple months ago, I didn't install them right away and within a few weeks I was having problems. Even having a firewall will not stop these. YOu would be surprised at the stuff that gets loaded into your system...and they don't car what it does to your computer.
Just a thought

First I would check the Windows Event viewer, with luck there might be a hint to the errors in the event logs, Its in different locations depending on the versions of of windows that you maybe using but it will be in Control P{anel, Admin Tools or Right Click my computer and select "Manage" or Properties if Manage is not available

I am still going to look into your suggestion but I haven't had freeze ups since this Tuesday. I got DSL and no problems. I was going to say it was the modeum but I guess I can't since the mouse isn't working with the modeum any more. I am sure if I put the modeum back into action the freezing would start up again, mine you, only when on the internet. But I am very happy with DSL. Should have gone that route a long time ago but the monthly bill held me back. Thanks to everyone for helping.[?] |
