Default MOTOR TREND compares Pontiac Solstice GXP...

to the BMW Z4 3.0si and Nissan 350Z Roadster Touring (October 2006 Issue). If money is no problem for you then go with the BMW as it "...is effortlessly the best of the three...". However, if you are on a "tight toys budget" then the Pontiac is the way to go:

"...If the Solstice didn't look so damn good, it wouldn't be our pick. Nor would it be if it hadn't rattled us by showing the Nissan 350Z its taillights around the track. The Solstice is a car of giant flaws (the trunkette) and some weaknesses (carpal-tunnel steering, amateurish ergonomics). But it is also a major deviation from the predictable sports car for the money curve. Our advice? Sell you creaky MGB with the turbo-kit instead of your mother and buy the Pontiac."

Looks like you made the right choice, turbomangt. [|)] [8D]

Any two-seater, including the Solstice, can never replace a van. However, if you tell your mother that driving a Solstice will make her look and feel 20 years younger, just maybe, that will work. [B)] Good luck. [8]

No, but the trunk of the Solstice is quite similar in size to the, um, glove box of your typical van. Until you put the top down, then it's actually smaller than a glove box.
