All the other forums have mention of his passing, so I thought I'd do the same here.
I liked Gerald Ford - I felt he was a decent, honorable man. I voted for Ford - I felt Carter was decent & honest, too, but peanut farming isn't my idea of good preparation for president! Some criticized Ford for pardoning Nixon - I didn't - the fact that Nixon resigned in disgrace was enough - the same should have happened to Bush Sr. when it was proven he was in on selling arms to Iran - but NOTHING HAPPENED. The current Bush twit should be tried for violating the Geneva conventions, subverting the constitution and lying to get us into war in Iraq - if incompetence were a crime, he should be tried for that, too. The Ford-Carter election was largely free of smear - that was the last time that happened... Rest in peace, Gerry. [?] |

AND in July of 2004, when it wasn't popular to feel that way, Ford stated he was against the invasion and occupation of Iraq:
