Jimbo,
Had a ice storm like that back in Maryland a few years before I retired, sometime around 1997-98. The trees on page 2 reminded me of what happened to our back yard Weeping Willow. It was a gigantic tree, really beautiful in full bloom but enough ice formed on the branches that it cracked in half. We moved into a motel for three days because of the power outage. Insurance covered it, the loss of food in the fridge and freezer and the cleanup of the back yard. One of the many reasons I'm down here in Florida.

Crazy set of pictures. Actually great pictures. Amazing. If it wasn't for all the ice one would think a Hurricane went through.

There are still a lot of people without power, becauxe of all the power poles that went down.I was told that some won't have power for at least a month.Bad time of year to be without power.

I hate freezing rain most of all...
In '98 Canada had an ice storm that brought down big power transmission towers!

A guy I knew in central Massachusetts had an auto body shop with the motto 'pray for freezing rain'.

(Guaranteed business.... from collisions, and later rust-outs caused by the road salt.)
