Retro Design Toasters

When surfing net, i read an article about toaster design.
They came out with retro design for toasters, inspired by the action of Chrysler introducing a retro car, PT Cruiser.

"It's got retro design features, and even for toasters you're going back to features designed in the 1950s," Malassigne says. "You've got old things that go back in fashion. Retro design has become popular, especially for U.S. manufacturers. In Europe, they're not doing that; they're pushing the envelope in terms of design."

Malassigne feels that the successful introduction of the PT Cruiser in 2000 by Chrysler stimulated a lot of these retro design turns.

"In the design world, it's not impossible for people in design to look at influence from other products," he says, referring to the revival of dials - like radio dials in the 1950s - in some appliances.
