I'm not a vet, just an old Navy brat, born and raised on submarine bases. (Or as I was taught: there are two kinds of ships: submarines, and targets!)

(Got one nephew in the Marines, and the other's a Blackhawk pilot with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan. Spent Veterans Day sending messages to both, plus taking flowers to my father in Arlington. Yep, I for one always will remember: "Veterans Day" is NOT just an excuse for stores to hold sales!)

I think some of you folks are as "mature" as I am. I was in the USCG from 1959-1969. Served one year in Matratin, Libya, at a LORAN station helping the Navy subs to be able to plot exactly where they were located.
