Heya Guys, im just a new-fangled here my name is Dave from California. I would like to ask about Lasik surgery? Are you familiar with that? I suffered almost 18 years for my Astigmatism and I want to put my thick oldie glass in the box (for sure) it’s a killer to me for almost half of my life. It made me appear like a granny; I love sports but can’t do it especially extreme sports due to my eye condition. I read some article about Lasik and I want to get some opinion especially for those people who experienced it already. What are the procedure and the effects? Im planning to fly to Kansas for a Lasik exam in my2020 in a couple of months from now and im a little nervous for it, hope you can help me ease my tension by sharing your experience. For me, it was a waste of money. Within 3 years I am back to glasses. I had worn glasses since I was 6 and I now am in my late 60's. Hate glasses, but LASIK is not for everyone, wish I had the $2,000+ back.

for some it will last a long time, for others like hooligan it wont last for very long. its kinda luck of the draw. choose your specialist carefully. do research. and dont fall for the 299 per eye crap discount places feed you.

As with any surgery, there are no guarantees. I've been in the optical business for 33 years and have seen all types of eye surgery, from RK to Lasik. Depending on your current eye health, you may or may not be a candidate for Lasik. Also, depends on your cornea. Is it thick enough for the doc to perform the procedure. Most people I've seen have good results. The surgery will correct distance vision, but at some point, you will need glasses for reading. If your prescription is really strong and you are deemed a candidate by the doctor and you can afford it, I'd so do it.

I get free Lasix because I'm in the military, but I'm still skeptical to do so. Seems like people who get it need to carry eye drops with them 24/7 ..... and I'm not keen on an Army doctor getting anywhere near my eyes ..... but I hate glasses, they give me a headache and aggravate my sinuses so in couple months when I'm done with Arabic class I may consider putting in for it.
