before you guys that get so pissed off at truck drivers in the left lanes or the slow lane, they are doing their job and trying to make a buck. but maybe you BOZO's should stop and think for a minute. if it wasn't for trucks you wouldn't have ANYTHING in this country, no food, gas, building supplies, mail, freight, tires, clothes, shoes, and a thousand other things you use everyday, you would have NOTHING without them.
Truckers have no life behind the wheel, on the road 24/7, never get to see their families and friends. the fact is truckers pay more in just ROAD TAXES each year than most of you guys make in a year for your family. So the roads you drive your PT's on, those slow moving trucks paid for that road and you complain about them....think McFLY. diesel is 80 cents a gallon more than unleaded fuel and big rigs get 6 to 8 mpg at best. So next time you full up your tank at 48 bucks for 15 gallons, try a truckers fuel tank at 4.30 a gallon, 860 dollars a full up 200 gallons and driving only 1200 miles. So give the truckers a break before you give them the finger with that big mac your stuffing your face with and driving home from the mall and walmart.

Amen!

After realizing all the training and how hard their job really is I've been curteous to say the least to them. I'm the person on the interstate in rush hour that lets the trucker with his blinker on get in front of me.

Better check a long way on that M10, not just the part you drive. Go back at least 20 miles before the place you were stopped and check the states driving hand book to see what it says about 3 and 4 lane roads and highways and how it pertains to trucks.

Then, if there's nothing, you can use it on your behalf.

So we are BOZOS because we don't like big trucks in the left lane on the freeway? Give me a break. Next time you see a big rig switch to the left lane you watch the cars behind them come to a screeching halt because that BOZO just broke the law and caused all sorts of problems that are supposed to be eliminated by obeying the law. Cry me a river because of the gas problems truckers have to pay for gas. We are all going to suffer for that in higher retail prices so don't even go there. We all get paid to do our jobs so how is that so special for truck drivers? So the next time some idiot truck driver switches to the left lane on the freeway making cars drop down from 70 mph to an instant 50 mph this BOZO will flip him off with both hands.

Alright thread hi-jackers.....Back on topic!!

Anyways, I was talking to a person that is a member of the "National Motorists Association" and he pointed me in the correct direction. Found the law that states a vehicle weighing in an excess of 10,000lbs can't drive in the left lane. Thing is - I don't think the vehicle I was driving weighs more than 10,000lbs!!

Quote:
(3) This section shall not be construed to prohibit a vehicle traveling in the appropriate direction from traveling in any lane of a freeway having 3 or more lanes for travel in the same direction. However, a city, village, township, or county may not enact an ordinance which regulates the same subject matter as any provision of this subsection. The driver of a truck with a gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds, a truck tractor, or a combination of a vehicle and trailer or semitrailer shall drive the vehicle or combination of vehicles only in either of the 2 lanes farthest to the right, except for a reasonable distance when making a left turn or where a special hazard exists that requires the use of an alternative lane for safety reasons.
I figured out the policemen did not correctly write the correct ordinance code on the ticket (Motion for dismissal), The location that is on my ticket is incorrect (Motion for dismissal), and the fact that he used a Laser radar device lets me ask for the calibration settings of that laser device, the distance in which he clocked me, and the specific officer's training with that device is all up for discussion in court.

I feel confident once I get all my information together to fight this ticket. Pretty soon I will personally be a member of the NMA and will be helping people fight their tickets!

Hey hey hey...Come on guys!

This wasn't supposed to be a "Hope you get ran over" thread. Just remember were all PT Owners here. Any PT smashed up by a semi would be awful! lol.

But seriously. Come on guys.

M-10 only goes from Southfield area to Detroit. About an 18 mile stretch of Highway. I drove from where it started, to the ~8mile marker, way past where I was pulled over and did not observe any signs that said anything of the sort.

You're a funny little guy. I worked with truck drivers at Coca Cola for four years so I know truck drivers well. Not one of them would crush somebody because of a one finger salute. Let's be realistic here.
