This is a project car I've had in storage for quite a while. We're about to buy a house so this one will get trailered up from the family farm where it's currently resting. It's been in the family since I was about 5. It belonged to my grandpa. He had it all decked out at one point & would tow it behind their motor home. When he moved back to Texas, he stored it in the barn. It sat there for 15 years. I offered to buy it when I was getting my DL, but he said no. But relented when I was in college & I swapped him my 45 colt revolver for it. Which was given back to me when he passed away a few years ago.
Basically it's been gutted since I got it so I could do a complete rebuild on it, but I put it back in storage shortly thereafter. Slideshow Link ![]() ![]()

That's a Meyer's Manx right? My brother would kill for that buggy. He's huge into VW's and has a rail buggy with a 1600cc that he has built from scratch. He has a 1975 VW bus that he did have a full race 1900cc in, but than swapped for a 1.6L n/a diesel from a golf. I think now he's going to put a 1.8L engine out of a Fox into it. He also has a 1964 Notchback that he is restoring and planning on turning it into a baja setup. I believe he is planning on running 33"+ tires on it when finished!
I like VW's but they are expensive. My brother just finished restoring a 1975 Beetle Standard, I was thinking of buying it afterwards, but it's just too dang pricey. The driving feel of the old beetle is much the same as the PT tho, short dash, short front end, and narrow enough to squeeze between anything. Ben

My dad used to have one of those in England! It was his first car. When i asked him what he did when it rained, his reply was "squint my eyes and pull out the drain plug"
I guess it is pretty much like a fiberglass bathtub right? I still really like those things.

Yeah most of them are that way. One of the upgrades he put on it was a custom soft top with soft-side doors. I still have the doors, but the top basically rotted away. So I will probably have them remade when I have a new top made. I plan on doing all the other work on it myself minus the actual paint job.
