breifly thought about coming up there.the company i work for is based out of edmonton.
as far as those cars with the funny stripes,i always watch out for them.you would think with all the racing stripes and sponsership of various city and state you would think they want to race everyone but all they do is compare top-end.go figure.then you lose and get thrown in a little room with strange bed fellows.no thanks.

I have to admit, their flashy lights are very nice! I am surprised that they don't go to more shows! They could do well with the stripes, black rims, flashy lights and all that tech inside!

Actually, I had a question for you Carey. I read in a magazine about an officer who had built a sweet Dodge Magnum with custom bodywork, and performance upgrades (plus a pretty crazy D.A.R.E. paint job). In the article it said he used it as his cruiser. I did not know that you could use a vehicle that you bought as a Police car... That is pretty cool if you can!

I wonder if it's the magnum we have in our Sheriff's office. The deputies that use it as their car had a hand in designing it. They do use it as their patrol car but don't own it outright. Maybe that's what the article meant. Here's pictures but they are small and don't do it justice. Up close the whole car is covered with Diamond Plate graphics and then Sheriff and D.A.R.E. graphics are put on top of that.

Our officers and deputies were allowed to take their cars home and use them for personal transportation. The more visible patrol cars are on the streets the lower the crime rate (and our county has the second lowest in crime rate statistics of all 67 counties in Florida). I say "were" because they just stopped the part of using the cars for personal use (they can still take them home) because of the cutbacks with the economy.
