2sb,

If your shaking your head and asking "what the heck is it"....The beetle came out many years ago with (I think) three different front ends and I believe even a different back end. One of the front ends resembled a rolls royce with a big shiny radiator sticking out front and some sort of flying emblem that resembled the RR flying godess. By the way..here one for ya, a rare Woody Beetle.

Saw the VW at a swap meet Saturday. This was my favorite one. I never cared for the Rolls. I don't like adding straight lines and sharp angles to a body theme of curves. I think the Rolls had an engine cover that resembled a cheap spare tire cover. I thought they were aftermarket instead of factory?[:I] Your woody is a few years older than this one judging from the bumpers.

They're aftermarket. Over the years several different companies made 'kits' to change the VW bug's looks. Roll's, '40 Ford, etc.

Hmmm... I like woodies, but that woody beetle looks as if it would smell really bad inside[:0]...

Just my stinkin' opinion..As the saying goes: "Opinions are like...
