Default Caught in the Crossfire

Ok, here's my confession:

Last Friday, I went to my my local Chrysler dealer to get an oil change. Yeah, it's a little more $$$ than going to Jiffy Lube, but I get to B.S. with other Chrysler owners, and see what else is "out there." Anyway, I never stay in the customer waiting area, and I wander through the showroom.

This was the second time I was tempted away from my PT. The first time it was a Pacifica...wow... Last Friday it was a white Crossfire...oh yeah... Now I'm seriously tempted to trade in my PT for one of these , my impulses almost got the best of me, but I was strong. Sombody please help!

Now, if you've ever inspected a Crossfire more closely, it's worlds apart from a PT. It exudes the frivolous impracticality of a sports car, but WHO THE HELL CARES!!![}] Staggered wheels, no spare, power EVERYTHING, leather, 160 MPH (where the heck are you gonna go 160 mph in residential Chicago?) 6% the storage capacity of a PT (hey but it's got the LATCH system so Bambino won't have to share the trunk with the loaf of bread , gallon of milk and a stick o budda), a rear view about the size of a Polaroid... you get the idea. I'm 5'5 , and to me, the PT is is roomier than my apartment. I can stretch out, do a couple jumping jacks, etc. But the Crossfire fits like a glove! As snug as a bug in a rug.

I thought this was just a phase I was going through, but I am lusting over this car! Fortunately, I've only discussed this matter with my Fiance, not in the presence of my PT. What am I gonna say, honey, those other cars meant nothing to me...The leather interior is nothing compared to your 29 mpg highway rating and your 15-plus seating combinations....

Can someone offer me counselling? (Don't answer that.) Chrysler, damn you and your "Drive=Love" it's only causing more problems! That angelic gleam of white clearcoat is the sheep's clothing that hides the tempting impracticallity we all lust for![xx(]

Don't let yourself get "caught in the Crossfire" [:0] as, for about the same money, you can get a new Nissan 350Z...

...which has considerably more power (287hp/274 ft-lbs. torque) and seems to have a larger/bigger interior. [8D] If the Crossfire is a "true sportscar" (???) then [u]why did DC only put a 215HP non-turbo engine in it</u>? [V] Keep your PTC, and, if you must upgrade, wait until the 2006 model year and do it then--new PT Cruiser design, even more power, and practicality which really does matter (to many of us).

Just my two cents. Good luck.

Just lust for spring... and the PT conv...

Gary, don't forget the RX-8! Same price range

Just saw the RX-8 and the 350Z Sunday next to each other and both were just beautiful. Tough decision.

Yeah those RX-8s are funky, rotary engine and all. Beautiful machines they are. Is that a suicide door that I see? My fiance has a Saturn 3-door, I guess you can call it a suicide door, and they are FUN! I'm trying to convince her to trade hers in for an ION its got suicides on both sides!

Two things saved me from the temptation/ my legs were too long to sit in the crossfire (6' 5") plus my credit card is maxed out already/

Guess if you are thinking about buying a "two seater" then, just maybe[:I], you should stop asking yourself... "Do I fit?"..."Is it practical?"..."This will hurt my budget!?"..."This will 'max out' my credit cards!?"...and, [u]just go for it</u>!!!... [8D] [?]

You forgot about the "warranted" twin turbo setup for $4,000...350+HP.
