I PASS anyone?

I guess when it rain it pours, first my accident, now I got 5 tickets in the mail from the ILLINOIS TOLLWAY SYSTEM. They tell me I went through 6 tolls without paying. Now go figure, I have an I PASS? I checked the meter and it has $15 in it. I don't understand, sometimes I notice the meter makes a beep sound when I go through a toll booth, other times not. So do I have a defective meter? I don't think I should have to pay a fine for their no good meter. [xx(] Gary

I have the "Speed Pass" here in Florida, and it works fine but you have to slow down to about 15 mph or so when going thru the toll booths. A green light comes on the little box (not sure of a beep)to say it recognized the toll. Did you fly thru the booths? Also, I believe they should have pictures of your car going thru the booths which is the way they were able to identify your PT. Can you ask for a hearing if it's not too far away? Show them your Pass Box, maybe it's on the wrong spot on your window. I carry mine loose, don't want to have the box attached, but I hold it up right next to the rear-view mirror when going thru the tolls. Good Luck.

Crewzin, you mean I can't go through at 90 MPH? [8)] I called them and they are sending me a new unit, No fines, or penalty, gary, don't stick the air police on me again.

I guess "Speed Pass" is just a name, They should change it to "Slow Pass"

Well thats one good thing about living in michigan"no toll rds" yet i guess they don't have the heart to charge us for these nasty highways.LOL

Here in Pennsylvania, we use EZPass. The PT Cruiser is listed as a car which needs an EXTERNAL transponder. I assume it is due to the metal oxide content in the windshield.
