Default 2004 Ford F'd-150

I am NOT a Ford fan, but even I have to admit this new pick-up is going to kick some major Heine. Poor Chevrolet. Who allowed the '03 redesign?! Egads...

I got to see the Ford at the Harley 100th recently. The exterior is really RAM-like with the "me too, me too" grille & headlamps for sure, but it really excels in the interior. That's the key.

Crystal ball predictions for traditional recalls:

1. Fuel line may rub and cause fire
2. Insufficiently torqued lug nuts
3. Brake line fastener corrosion
4. Undersized brake rotors may warp
5. Steering column bolts missing
6. Orange peel paint peeling off
7. Long-term brake application melts taillenses
8. Gas gauge always shows FULL
9. Seat belts may jam during egress
10. Automatic transmission needs rebuild at 50k

Just kinda kidding . Good luck Ford!

2004 Ford F150 Fx4

The new F-150 comes in "...5 trim levels, 3 cab styles, 2 bed styles, 3 bed lengths with 2 engines in either 4x2 or 4x4 form. The larger SOHC 24-valve V8 5.4L engine is rated at 300 hp...."

Hey Stephen, you forgot my favorites, which all happened on my Father's 93 T-Bird:

11) Headlamp Switch may overheat and fail, requiring replacement of switch with new design, and replacement of harness plug......*3 TIMES*
12) Leaving the fog lamp switch on for more than 5 minutes may cause the headlamps to intermitently flash completely off and on while driving, possibly causing an accident
13) Radio may randomly change channels or stop working
14) Automatic Climate Control System may spontaneously start working with no input from the driver.
15) Steering wheel shimmy during braking
16) Automatic Transmission may 'slip' while driving at speeds in excess of 75MPH for durations longer than 5 minutes.

17. Brake light failure - except 3rd B.L.
18. Oxidation to black exterior plastics may cause fashion faux pau
19. Undersized alloy wheels corrode after one Michigan winter
20. (My favorite) Headlamp lens plastic yellows after one Arizona summer and may hamper visibility

Oh BOY, this is fun [}]

I recall the '93 Taurus I had, tranny failed at about 60,000 miles, dropped in a used one for $2k and it failed 6 months later. I couldn't even look at that car without feeling sick.

One phone call and it was gone the next day to the bone yard, people said "you should have sold it for parts". I just wanted the pos crushed, one less junk box on the road. (sorry any Ford fans).

I must admit that while the electrical system on my Dad's 93 Thunderchicken is probably the worste I have ever seen on any car, new or old, and while the tranny does slip, that the car does have over 250k miles on it.
Another fun tidbit: he uses Rotella oil in the thing. Yeah.....that's the oil they use in large commercial diesel engines.
