I think those are gorgeous and they look very functional! I would never have thought of making my own! Well, let me rephrase that. I would never have thought of having my husband make some of those for me, but now I'ma thinkin....

Those are sweet! I've got two: one wood, one the original stock shelf: occasionally I sneak up on the people at work with several huge platters of goodies, and two shelves come in very handy then. But I really like yours, and that divider in the center is a brilliant idea. And they look like they'll flip over, if you want a plain/smooth surface?

That's great. I'm thinking having a cross-beam of sorts across the bottom of the top shelf and screwing some coat hooks into it to hold plastic grocery bags upright, and then being able to put my paper bags on top of the shelf. I also read where people are keeping a full-sized spare under the bottom shelf. What a great idea! Not only will that be safer in case of a flat, but will also be a lot easier to check it periodically.

The OEM shelf came with hooks on the edge to hang plastic grocery bags. It also came with a folding leg in the center so when you bring the shelf out to an extended position, you let the leg swing down and hold the extended portion of the table for support. It was used for tail gate parties.

I don't have the OEM shelf anymore or I'd post a picture. Found one.....
