The rear shelf came with the cruiser when you bought it for the first few years. Chrysler started deleting things on the cruiser as a cost savings measure like the engine vanity cover and the passenger side outside door lock. Eventually the rear shelf and I believe the rear cargo net both became an extra you could buy but it didn't come with the PT purchase. You can find them on eBay and on the "for sale" sections of PT forums. The stock shelf looked like this:

You could put it in 4 different positions including a tail gate party shelf with folding leg for support. Some people have made their own out of wood and there's also a place that makes them in different kinds of wood, like mine.....

That looks pretty sharp made out of wood. I've never seen that before. My shelf is usually sitting on the shelf in the garage with the seats but there's been a couple times that I've used it.

If you go to eBay under "pt cruiser cargo" their going for around $50. There's one for $26 but there's 3 bids and 3 days left. PT Boutique has brand new ones for $159.00. So if you look around they are going for all kinds of different prices. I sold mine last year for $35 plus shipping because I bought the wood one and the other was just taking up space.

Cool Re: Trunk Shelves

Mine is very functional!
Golf clubs & shoes below. Sweaters and caps above.
I have seen some nice wooden ones: and even saw a clear plastic one with LEDs in it this summer.

I can give you rough measurements but don't forget the corners have to be cut out. 19" X 41 1/4" Look at the above picture I posted.

This one came with mine... not sure if it was part of the Limited package or if the prior owner had it added.

It's quite sturdy and makes the car a great grocery grabber.
