Well, if you know it or not, I-95 is a major highway to the north of drugs coming into the country from Florida. Instead of lying low and being inconspicuous, these idiots fly up the highway. It would be a major mark on a deputy/officer/highway patrolman's record to catch these mules and find a big stash of illegal drugs.

Yeah that's true.. I've seen more than one bust around here and it started with a speeding violation.

Anyway, it's all good... I feel a lot better today. I was so mad yesterday but oh well.. $100 isn't that big of a deal to me, I just hate the repercussions of 3 points on my license to what I consider to be a matter of opinion.

It's not like I was speeding and he could have some kind of computer evidence to say that I did... this is the cop saying I did, when I say I didn't and neither of us has any evidence to prove the other wrong... so I lose.

$12.50 a week for the next 8 weeks set aside for this crap..

I've never done a 4 second stop, and have never seen one done either.
I don't do them either Only time I have was for my drivers test! I do stop for the stop signs now, just not as long as the driving instructors like

I went to school for criminal justice so I am in no way a cop hater but sometimes there are cops out there that make mistakes, some more than others.

Want to hear a story of injustice?

My boyfriend was pulled over by a town cop for not wearing a seatbelt while he was wearing a seatbelt, and I know he was because I was sitting right next to him.

We tried to nicely explain to the cop that my boyfriend had been wearing the seatbelt when he started to chase us down the road(while people were zooming past us going twice the speed limit), but the cop would not listen and issued the ticket anyways. My boyfriend ended up not paying it because the cop never showed up at court.

To keep the story short, just obey the law..
I agree with you. I have worked for the Port Authority in New York, and I can tell you that NO police departments have a so called "ticket quota" that they have to meet every month. It is insulting to say that cops have nothing better to do than frame you, which is what you are saying he did, for a $100 violation. I guess you forgot about all of the loyal police officers that you would cry for if you were in a bad situation. Not to mention the 60 officers who had nothing better to do on the morning of September 11, 2001 except sacrifice their lives trying to save people just like yourself.

Maybe you should pay more attention to your driving than you do to insulting the men and women of law enforcment.

Well hopefully this will be taken to make light of it all..

"What is the definition of "stop" anyway? All 4 wheels not turning for 0.05 seconds? 2 seconds? 5 seconds?"

I once was told a story, (a joke and fictitious of course) about a cop pulled over a fellow for not coming to a complete stop at a sign.
The driver argued, said he didn't see any difference in him slowing down.. or stopping as there were no other cars around.
So the cops starts wailing on him with his nightstick.... the driver began yelling out: STOP! STOP! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS???..

the cop yells back ... do ya want me to "SLOW DOWN" or STOP??

heheheheheee all in fun.. but a message is in there...

LOL... seriously... has ANYONE that says this even looked into the process?
Quotas are illegal here. That's a good thing I'd say.

"Revenue" comments are a common misconception said by those usually "caught"..
For a one hundred dollar ticket, the court absorbs about 90 dollars, then they stack 45 dollar court filing fee in my state.
You figure the math.
No one has "revenue" motivations.
None of that money goes to Police, and as far as I know, it never has...
The counties and state get pretty much everything except municipality utility fees, local property taxes, etc.
That goes to a general fund. NOT the po-lees as everyone likes to believe and state as fact. Police Departments get what their cities decide to give them.. nothing more. And usually, it's less than any other city department.
Oregon (I don't live there but I read about it) cut Law Enforcement funding a few years back, laid off 40 percent of the force statewide, and released the same amount of prisoners at the same time, all to cut funding. Their crime spiked over 300 percent. and they rethought their initial stance on it, and "found" funding to rehire most of the cops they laid off. they still haven't cleaned it back up but things are getting better..
Ted Bundy, and others were caught from minor traffic stops.
Timothy McVeigh was caught by getting stopped by a cop for no License plate light!!!
I'm pretty sure they also thought the cop "had nothing better to do than to harass innocent citizens with nonsensical traffic enforcement"....

Sorry dude, but saving thousands of people from burning buildings is a bit different than setting up basically a "speed trap" in a deserted area at 6am. The cop was there for one reason and one reason only.. to hand out the first ticket he could.

I do pay attention to my driving. Maybe you should pay more attention to another forum instead of posting ass kissing comments... Oh wait, your a troll with 1 post.
