Picked up the SHO - Raptor Off Road

First post of a new SHO owner I've seen. 2010 luxury edition (not performance) W/O tuning, he ran 0-60 in 5. Acceleration was amazing with a 'conservative' tuning.

This came from the thread,

"the tune from Ford is EXTREMELY conservative. We're not trying to break any records or anything here, but let's say the time timing is beyond conservative. Like single digit conservative. There's some interesting stuff available to control in the computer, and there's all kinds of trans control in there."

This guy is going to post the dyno from his new tuning any day now. I'll be interested to see how 'liberal' he gets with the tuning.

Oh happy days

Blech. 4 door sedans have not one redeeming quality whatsoever, IMHO.

'03 PT Cruiser GT 5spd: removed muffler and airbox silencer future planned mods are K&N typhoon intake, 2" rear lowering springs, hopefully some kind of old skool mag style wheels, and possibly at least a stage 1 turbo upgrade. Oh and i GOTTA get rid of those $#@!'in flame decals!

I can see you have never made good use of a back seat on a 4 door car or a long sweeping fender on a older classic..

Well. there seems to be plenty of room there in the sho. I can see this being pretty darn quick too. Give it a few months and there should be plenty of upgrades avail. With the AWD it should be kind of fun to see how it holds up against the Evo and the STI as far as launches and with a little work, could probably even hang with stock ones.

I loved my 91 Merc. Sable as a people hauler. for short trips, no problem fitting 4 or 5 (if they were smaller) people into my back seat and 3+ me in the front with enough space in the trunk to cary 5 or 6 good sized pieces of luggage. The transmission on the other hand was a PITA and it always had a small oil leak.

Well...wagons or 5-door hatchbacks have 4-doors and a LOT more room as well as look better than a sedan. So the styling compromise from a coupe is nowhere as severe and you gain a LOT more. Either way the cutest girls were snapped up by those of us in those old school 4x4's or muscle cars anyway!

As to making use of the extra room, I 86'd the rear seat in all my jeeps for a VERY good reason...

Hennesey engineering allegedly already has a tuning package ready to go. It includes an exhaust system, air filter, boost controller, boost gauge, turbo upgrades, intercooler upgrades, and suspension.
