Talking I sooooo want one of these!

Hey Everyone,

Man, this beast came across Ebay a while back, and I have been drooling over it ever since! Granted its not everyone's taste, but for me, this thing is way too cool, and unlike a lot of Rat Rods out their, to me, its just got this really gritty cool Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibe going for it, where you could almost see this belonging to some nightmarish guy who lives way out in the middle of nowhere straight out of a horror flick!!! Its a 48 Diamond T tow truck, and its still functional at that! From the Anvil, re-bar, and plow tip on the grille, flamed sink air cover, bump out safari style split windshield, air horn siren, and old bubble top disco safety light, to the old cooler, animal trap on the floor, and pocket watch holder on the dash, I dig on everything about this old school rat! Whoever built it did a great job, and all the detail could keep you looking it over for a long time! Apparently despite the sign on the door which reads "Undertaker Recovery, Death Valley CA, the guy that built, and sold it, as well as the guy who bought it both live in Georgia. It apparently sold for $15,000 which is really pretty cheap considering the work that went into it. I gotta say, I wouldn't mind going to pick up a fellow Cruiser in distress with this thing! Check this thing out!

As I start looking for an old tow truck.... Man do I need access to a better shop so I can start chopping thing up again like I used to!!! Heck, I could even real easily see taking an old scrapped PT, and cut the body from the firwall to the back of the front seats like Rowdy did, then chop that puppy down to 3-4 inches, make a custom dropped floor, and use it as the car on this!

Go easy, and stay cool!

That's awesome! I'm also a big fan of unique rat rods (not just rusty junk with a multi-coloured blanket over the seat). Cool find.

So-Cal can sell you the frame and parts to get you on the way...but, you will need to find a cab and those funky parts to make the look you want.

Rat'en is a way of life!!!
