I want this car but I don't... Just thinking out loud

I have a 1988 Chrysler LEBarron that we bought for $100 along with an 88 Aries K. We spent months working on this car to get it running and looking good several years ago. We put in new carpet, seats, new convertible top, tore the engine down, put on a new head and the list keeps going. I love the car for all the work we've done.

Now, a co worker has given me a chance to buy an 1984 Mazda rx7 from a friend of her's for $500 in great running order. I've always loved the rotaries and have had 3. 2 1988 gxl and 1 1984 gs.

Here us the predicament. My mom, who helped with all the work on the lebaron likes the lebarron too, but I can't keep the lebaron and buy and insure the rx7 too. I'd like to give herthe lebaron, but at the same time I could use the money from it's sale to buy and insure the rx7. Ugh. I wish I could hit the lotto even if it's just $2k. Lol.

Sorry for the long vent and thoughts. I really miss my old rx7 but love the lebaron.

Don't know about yours, but my insurance charges less for each car you add, knowing you can't drive the all at the same time!
Have you priced the insurance?
I've added a new car and kept an old one on until I could sell it.

Might look into collector car insurance , I have 9 that I carry liability on for little money,use is restricted but ins is cheap..

I'll try to figure out what those restrictions are, but I don't think the lebarron is old enough to be eligable for collectors insurrance and I wouldn't want restrictions on the rx7 that limit mileage.

I think I might try to see if he'll do a payment plan. Then just store it at work till I can register and insure it.

I know how that is... I had a 1992 GEO Tracker convert that I bought from my mother in law about 4 years ago. She gave me a good deal on it when I bought it. When I bought a different car the Tracker sat in the yard for a year or so figuring my daughter would get it when she started driving. She ended up getting a 94 Bonnieville from her aunt for graduation so she never drove it. So one day this summer my mother in law wanted to buy the car back, I wanted to keep it and make it a 4 wheeler to have fun with... Needless to say instead of all the problems I saw in the future if she didn't get the car back. I sold it back to her for $300 bucks even though it was worth about $1800 and I had put money into it and really didn't want to sell it. Needless to say now it sits in her driveway and I'm out but I guess she's happy..So for me it was a sacrifice but peace was kept.
