Well, I guess I'm here to represent the USAF female vets. (WACs were still considered Army, right?)

Desert Shield/Desert Storm, but stateside, because my shop didn't send females.(we only had two and the other one was a Master Sargent) B-52 Avionics tech.

I served in the Coast Guard for 10 years, during "Nam I was sent to Libya North Africa to a LORAN duty station on the Med. We were 1/2 mile from the Med., but, seeing we a isolated duty station and in the desert we had to make our own fresh water, 20,000 gallons a week and furnish 1 55 gallon drum of freshwater to our libyan gate guards. It was a interesting experience!!

At every Marine base around the world on 11/10 they honor the oldest and youngest Marine on the base - I was shocked that during Vietnam (but it was a base in the US - 29 Palms, Calif) there was a kid 16 years old! I asked him - he was dirt poor from Georgia - he and some guys took a joy ride in a car - were arrested for grand theft auto (even tho they returned the car) and judge said "either 4 years in jail or 4 years in the Marines".

Funny story! At least the Marine Corps isn't compared to jail too much anymore. Some may disagree...
The youngest Marine last year at the ball was born in 1990. Makes you feel old right?
