Laugh no more at the ugly little car called the Aztec. Mark Reuss (head of GM Performance division) has put together a package to mate a highly developed C5-R (that's Corvette Racing) and beefed it up to 665 hp with 625 lb-ft torque. Fortunately, it's not available to the general public. No radio, A/C or cupholders but it does have a six point roll cage and racing belts. Price...your gotta ask, you can't afford it.

...actually, it's still a bit UGLY []

I'm reminded of those crazy mirrors at the carnival for some reason.

So why do we have to beware if they are not going to produce it? If anything, just match that sucker up with the PT-10 and its the 'Vetter vs. Viper in different skins.

As for the looks, I like it much better that the stock A$$-tek. Those wheels fill out the fenders real nicely.

Actually Marc, the Aztec is about to die. Reuss never had a chance to alter it, and he wanted to prove it could be done. Like any prototype, if there was a large interest in the hopped up version, GM might be inclined to produce a limited number. Don't think it would be quite as powerful as this one is, but they could drop a smaller V8 into it. All manufactures do the same thing; build a prototype and look at the customer response. That's how the PT came to be.

Hmmm...

For some reason, I'm having "Logan's Run" flashbacks...
