Default Record rainfall in the Seattle area!!!

That's right--we had a record dry/hot summer this year and now we're paying for it. Yesterday, 5.02 inches of rain was recorded in the Seattle area...

...more than has ever been recorded before in a 24-hour period!!! There has been flooding, property damage, and road closures.

My wife and I were returning home from a 4-day road trip to Oregon driving our GT turbo car--the last few hours of which were spent navigating around accidents and water on the roadways--arriving home just before 12 midnight. Our Cruiser performed outstanding under adverse weather/road conditions--no brake-fade, hydro-planing, or other problems. The disc-brakes all-around, ABS, traction-contol, and the car's low-profile all helped us to get home safely. Even the stock Goodyear tires (which I have heard some forum members complain about) did their job. Well done, PT Cruiser GT![^] [?]

Whats wierd is that I live 100 miles South of you and our weather has been beautiful. Yesterday it was in the 70s.

Glad to hear you had a good road trip. That is a great drive over to Bend. That was the first road trip we did with our car in July. It was in the high 90s but we stayed nice and cool thanks to AC.

Yeah, I spoke to one of my Apps techs that lives in the seattle area. He was supposed to go into the city today, and the normal 1 hour trip was taking 3-5 hours due to the flooding and detours. So the trip for today was (excuse the expression) a wash.......

Lived in Tacoma back in the early sixes. Even as a kid I remember alot of rain. Also remember the family in the summer driving to American Lake to spend the day. Lots of rain in the winter, thats what I remember, but I also remember about an hour drive to the mountain and we could go sleding! Oh, for the life of me I can't remember the mountains name but I do know it is still considered an active volcano (well, its sleeping for now).

It was most likely Mt. Rainier...

And the winner is: Gary04GT

Yes it was Mt. Rainier. Speaking of rain, just saw the morning news, water, water every where. Man, it looked bad from the news report. Head for high land everyone. Stay safe
