Every year we make like pioneers and go cut down our own tree, we drive passed thousands of acres of Xmas trees and dozens of tree farms. we drive 2 hours to our place (which is farther than some places I have gone on vacation)and we do it because it is a tradition. when we arrive, the same thing happens as every year before, NO ONE agrees on a tree. Everyone has their favorite. So being the head of the family, I stay non partial, willing to take any tree that has a majority vote. after 3 hours of walking in the forest, finally our family has it down to 3 trees. again, I think any will do fine. when we get one picked out, it usually looks like the runt of the forest. why? not sure, maybe after looking at hundreds of acres of trees, and walking for miles, they all look the same? when we pack the tree on the car and head home, everyone is tired. so who has to set it all up? decorate it? re arrange the furniture? dead old dad, that's who. I guess that what tradition is all about. man, I'm tired.

Yes Gary, I have been there and done that also, however this year I am retired and you would not believe how the outlook and attitude has changed. You'll get your chance. Enjoy![?]

![]() Since we found that real trees are bad for allergies, we've gone "phony".
