Default R U paying twice for the same insurance

don't know about the rest of the USA but in Florida uninsured motorist only covers medical insurance for the people in your car, that has no health insurance. so you are paying at your job, health insurance, and at your agent on your car. call your agent and see if you can save money.

note if you are transporting kids to any place make sure they have health insurance before removing this from your car insurance.

Think it's required in NY & NJ, not an option. [:I]

AMX,

Just looked at my auto policy from Hartford. You gotta be a lawyer to try an understand all that double-speak, but essentially your right, it only covers medical, BUT I think it also covers medical of the "other" vehicle if your at fault and they have no insurance. [:I] But then again, you can read that stuff 5 times and come out with 5 different ways at looking at it.

CREWZIN, if you think you can't decipher it wait until you have a claim, the insurance then will tell you how to proceed (In their best interest). [xx(]

Another little note: as I have been through it. if your car is in a wreak and after repaired, the book or the dealer would give you only 10.000 trade in yet the car is worth 15,000 then the insurance co. owes you the 5,000 defferance and that is even if you are not trading, in otherwords if you car is worth less because of a wreak then the ins. owes you the differance again this is FLORIDA law.

AMX,

Your probably right, as I said the double-speak isn't easy to decipher. The first line on my Hartford Insurance under "Uninsured Motorists Coverage" says.... "We will pay compensatory damages which an insured is legally entitled to recover from the owner or operator of an uninsured motor vehicle because of bodily injury."

So to me that says that if the "other guy" has no insurance, having "Uninsured Coverage" on your car will guarantee compensatory damages.
