Gosh. I'll have to be more careful not to wear a corseted top with removable breast panels while on stage with a guy singing, erm, lipsyncing, the lyrics "and I'll have you nekkid by the end of this song." It sure is a good thing Janet (Miss Jackson if you're nasty) was wearing a nipple shield with her piercing so we couldn't see more aereola. She'd probably feel really exposed if that sort of picture was all over the internet, or something. I bet Justin is really kicking himself and wondering "Why ME? Why do things like accidentally reaching over and undressing women have to happen to ME?" Poor kid'll probably never recover.

Probably for the same reason I have my navel pierced but don't wear mid-drift shirts; I like the aesthetic but don't feel the need to make everyone else see it. Not all things people do are meant for others to see, enjoy, or comment on. Of course, if you're going to stand on national television with your booblies hanging out and waving to the crowd, this just may not apply to you.

Granted, one might not normally choose to wear a pointy metal shield with vinyl on a day to day basis, but when you've got that sort of expendable income, another couple hundred on a replacement bra cover is probably as meaningless as me buying bottled water.
