Default Auto Show

I haven't gone yet, but what I've read about it, thier are some really cool cars out. Many concept cars from a few years ago are in production now. The exotic car dealer that I detail cars for, is working the Lotus booth. Their is a new model coming out this spring called the Espree. List is $39,900. He took orders for 78 of them !!!! I can't wait to see it. Plan on going this Sunday.

I thought it was the Lotus Esprit (pronounced Espree). Went to Philadelphia Auto show with son last Saturday - saw the Dodge Kahuna - also new Chrysler minivan where BOTH second and third row seats fold & tumble beneath the floor. Sat in the VW Phaeton - new Mercedes competitor, etc.

Where's the show, Gary?

Very nice cars, and a very nice power-to-weight ratio. I believe I read they contracted with Toyota or nissan to provide engines for the US Spec Espirit.
Oh, and I thought it was the lotus Elise ?

Think you're right - Esprit was/is existing model, Elise is new.

Not for me, looks like a kit car. There are plenty of other cars I'd rather spend 40 grand on (that is if I had 40 grand).

Yeah, this car has been out in the UK for a few years. Typical Lotus program of a small, lightweight car with a small engine....sort of harks back to the good old days when the late Colin Chapman (Lotus founder) was at the helm. He produced other little lightweight, almost minimalist cars like the Europa, Elan, Lotus 7 (sort of still available as a quasi-kit called the Caterham Super 7). These little lightweights handled like a dream and were very quick. The new Elise is very much cut from the same cloth - power to weight ratio is the whole thing here. I just freakin' love this car(!) and the old Lotus cars of the past.

Oh, and the Esprit is being killed off after almost 25 years of production in one form or another.

Think all the trash came from inside the car? A good lesson in paying attention to the background of your pictures.[B)]
