Default Not accepting new members?

Just curious...

I've seen posts saying that folks have tried to sign-up as a new member but they receive a message saying "Not accepting New Members". Just curious why no new members are being accepted. If it's a matter of reaching the limit on number of members why not remove some of the members who have not posted in the last 6 months or even last year.

Doing a rough calculation there are 144 pages of members names with 16 names per page for a total membership of around 2,304.

There are approximately 100 pages of members who have not posted with in the last 6 months, that's 1600 names. Of those approximately 1136 have not posted within the last year.

Out of the 2,304 members only 416 have posted this year.

Maybe we could trim a little fat and get some new blood.

If the reason is not due to reaching max capacity, disregard the above (although that would free up some server space).

Jody,
Thanks for the quick response. BTW, last night I logged out and when I tried to log in it would not let me type my password completely in the block. My password is 14 characters log and the password block would only accept 10 typed characters. It would however let me paste my password in the block and log me back on.

Just thought you should know.

boy, I don't believe that the search master himself didn't see Jody's post. Hey, it happens to the best of us. And I do agree with what IRPT is saying about people who had signed in but haven't posted is guite some time. Delete them, if they come back they'll have to sign in again. No big deal, but I'm sure it will save some space and that can't hurt. Keep up the good work Jody, we're all behind you.[?]

That's it, Jody, change IRPT's handle to "Googlemeister Spock" to match his 14-character password. [8D]
