Default Anyone going to the NASCAR race this weekend?

I'll be at Atlanta Motor Speedway tomorrow and Sunday for the races. It's the first time ever that the trucks will be racing at AMS, which is currently the fastest NASCAR track.Seats for the truck race on Saturday are General Admission and it starts at 1PM. The Big Race is on Sunday afternoon and should be packed full of people.

I'll be sitting in General Admission for Saturday in the Champions Grandstand at the Start/Finish Line for the Truck Race and in the Weaver Grandstand right off of Turn #2 on the Backstretch for the Sunday race.

I think you can still get tickets if you are within driving distance, so hope to see you there!

I loved to go with ya Jack. Been to Penna, Dover, Richmond and of course Daytona, but haven't made it to Atlanta. Got a bad arm right now so I don't think I'll even make it to a show I pre-registered for tomorrow. Maybe next time around.

Man, I got my a** burnt out in the Sun this weekend! The weather was beautiful (about 70-75 and Sunny both days), but by Sunday I was pretty crispy!

The Saturday truck race was the best! If you didn't see it on Speed Channel, there was a 2-Lap shootout at the end because they were under a Caution Flag. Mike Skinner's Toyota was in the lead and coming out of turn 4 on the last lap, Bobby Hamilton's Dodge edged by him on the outside. The Toyota couldn't hold off the Ram and as Bobby Hamilton crossed the line in First, the Toyota spun just before he crossed the line and he managed a second place finish as he was sideways!

This was the first time they've run the trucks at AMS and if you haven't seen a Truck Race, and you're within driving distance of one, I suggest you go.Tickets were only $15 and it was General Admission, so they were all pretty good seats, depending on when you got there.

The Sunday race was much less adventursome. They allowed the teams to reduce the rear spoiler by 1 inch to allow them to run faster, and that combined with Atlanta being the fastest track in NASCAR combined to make it a fast race, if not an eventful one.

Har Har.....Actually, it's a pretty loose bunch of characters in the stands at most NASCAR events. For instance, there were a bunch of guys sitting a couple of rows behind us that were funneling beer fairly continuously.Yep, NASCAR races are a place to see a very even cross-section of the gene-pool.
