They have INDOOR tanning salons in Florida.??? The weather here is perfect, the sun is out most of the time and I still see them all over. I understand the idea in Chicago but this ones baffles me? [:I]

The answer is simple. Just like you want every car that leaves your detail shop to have the "Perfect Auto Finish" [8D]
Florida would like everyone to have the "Perfect Body Finish"!

The wrinkles are from sun damage. Most people down here are from up there and burn to easly. Tanning boths don't burn you.

Gary next time you see me ask me about my tan. [B)]

I've seen some pretty nasty burns from tanning beds if they stay in there too long.

So true TripleJack, I have heard horror stories of people getting pretty screwed up in the salons. But on the other hand, I have also heard of people here sunning on the beaches getting really screwed up.
I myself use sunblock 45 and still get a little sunburn on ocassion.

Gary,

A lot of people don't have the time to spend on the beach laying there soaking up the rays (and as mentioned..it could be dangerous). A tanning bed when used properly only takes 20 minutes a day, any time of the day.

I have not seen anybody who know what they are doing get burned in a tanning bed before. I didn't think it could happen. Outside is different, you can't control the suns rays.

Well in North Florida it gets pretty cold during the winter and the suns rays really have no effect on keeping your tan, So...in order to keep the tan they worked on so hard last summer people hit the tanning bed for the winter months. I wondered the same thing when i first moved here, then i got acclimated to the weather and I totally understand the tanning salon. LOL, how ya think i pick out the tourists at the beach around here, they're the only ones out there diving into the ocean in Feb.
