Default Chrysler 300/ Dodge Magnum info

Also in the March 22 Automotive News is info on the new Chrysler 300/Dodge Magnum cars.Interesting bits include:

- 'The 300 and Magnum share a 120 wheelbase, the longest of any Chrysler or Dodge since the late 1930s.'
-The HEMI versions of the car will get better Mileage than our PTs thanks to Cylinder Deactivation.'At constant speed, such as freeway driving, the system switches from 8 cylinders to 4 in 0.040 seconds.Coupled with the 5-speed automatic, the HEMI's fuel economy is rated at 25 HWY/ 17 CITY.'
-Only the 300 will offer HID headlamps.
- Load leveling shock absorbers offered only on the Magnum as some buyers are expected to use it to tow.
- About 20% of the platform's (LX) components come from the Mercedes Benz parts bin.

Magnum SE (190HP V6) :$22495
Magnum SXT (250HP V6) :$25995
Magnum RT (HEMI) :$29995
300 (190HP V6) :$23595
300 Touring (250HP V6):$27395
300 Limited (250HP V6):$29890

The prices listed include the Destination Charge.

Thanks for the info. I had seen the writeups about these two, I just never saw an MSRP. I ~LOVE~ the Magnums. Might seriously have to try and sway the wife towards one of THEM instead of a new Passat!

I was holding out for the hemi wagon, but could not pass up the DC2. I tried. I'm glad I got the Cruiser though. Maybe the next car I get will be the hemi. Although the wife's Grand Cherokee is getting a bit old and she'll need something by next year. Things that make you go Hmmm?

Hmmmm....

Someone had better check their stats..

Chrysler C-body cars (New Yorker, 300, Newport, etc.) in the 60's and 70's had a 124" wheelbase.

Heck, even the 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible I bought for my father-in-law as a Father's Day gift 2 years ago has a 119" wheelbase.

I was thinking the same, but this was as reported in the Automotive News on March 22nd.

TripleJack,

I know it wasn't your quote. My comment wasn't aimed at you.

But, how can a news organization NOT get a fact straight, particularly when a Google search will tell you the required information in 0.02 seconds??

Call me crazy...

The same way that someone from CNN can quote a story from The Onion as fact.

They don't always verify what they say.
