Just curious as to what others think of this video of our troops in action.

I think this may be a good idea for the US. Anyone who steals or loots should have there stuff stole or looted or damaged and see how they like it. What happen to the good ol days when people got there fingers hands and arms cutoff because they looted. [}]

It said he was a taxi driver, does this mean he is aload to steal and make other money for nothing. Its like drug dealing, this set around have people run drugs, make alot of money, and set around doing nothing but scratch themselves.

I think that looked like fun to me.

We go to there country to sposesively save them or help them, for what, to be shot and bombed and get treated like $$$$.

Well, that's some heavy police work there, I guess the Taxi guy and all his buddies really love the US Army now?

Having said that, I'm not there, never will be, so my opinion is worth about as much as a fart in the wind.

IRPT,

I think by you asking the question in the first place you might have some mixed feelings about what the soldiers did. I know I do. Yea, stealing/looting is wrong period. But where did they get the wood...was the house or whatever bombed and splintered all over the place? Did they tear down something to get the wood? It looked like just a lot of broken pieces to me. I think I need more info in order to make an honest assessment.

You're right CREWZIN, I do have mixed feeling about it. I do agree with KingKole that looters should be punished, but shouldn't the punishment fit the crime. They looted some wood, wouldn't taking the wood from them have been enough? Maybe turn the driver over to the local police (if there were any at this time). After watching the video again it upsets me even more. What was the purpose of firing the weapons at the vehicle? Why did the troops find it so funny to be destroying this individualÂ’s car? Did they have orders to do this or did they do it on their own? If they did have orders, would it not have been more effective to do it in a somber manner, conveying the seriousness of the offense, rather than with a "Boy are we having fun destroying your stuff" attitude?

What did this accomplish besides destroying the car and the looted property (which should have been returned to it's rightful owner)? Perhaps turn some more Iraqi's against the US? It surely wasn't very diplomatic and I think the attitude of the troops was improper.

This type of behavior does nothing to improve the attitude of the Iraqi people toward Americans.

Perhaps the guys are frustrated and getting damn tired of being spit on.

Perhaps destroying the car was a way of releasing tension from being shot at by people they're trying to help.

Perhaps if YOU'RE not currently being shot at, you shouldn't judge battlefield mentalities?[|)]

Clicked it just now and it worked.
Would those who can't see it like to know what it is about?
