Default Observations on vacation

ok, if this doesn't bore you, nothing will.

if they only have Cracker Barrels on the interstates, and the average wait is one hour, why not build them everywhere? Maybe because they already have one at every exit in just about every state? which should mean their are 489,679 of them.

Why can I drive for free in every state driving down to Florida excpet Illinois? Illinois has a toll booth every 4 miles? I guess our politicians have a higher quality of life to live.

Next, I see many trailers pulling cars across country, I know the odometer is still spinning. How do these people know when to change oil? The only thing I can imagion is they keep a log. Now what happens when they sell the car, milage might be 95,000 but they pulled it for 25,000 I;m sure potential buyer will believe that one.

No answers to your questions Gary, but welcome back, glad you had a safe trip. On a side note...wife and I like to stop at Cracker Barrel when we take out rip up to West Virginia which is in 3 days. We usually don't have to wait too long, and the wife loves to browse thru the store while waiting.

They have the wait so you WILL browse. Like having a drink at the bar while waiting for the dinner reservation which is late. On the Interstates because they prefer tourists. Locals know where to get better stuff cheaper.

You're closing in on the meaning of life!

Obviously, you had enogh time for your mind to wander - a good thing!

And, on the towed cars - if they're new that'd go against mileage warranty, too!

For years I've wondered in the car ads what it means when they list "actual miles" as in "67 GTO,78,000 actual miles"..maybe this is the answer[:I]
the big grin asked me if cracker barrel is a store w/a resturant or visa-versa

First,
Why do you think they have a store in the front, plus all those rocking chairs. They make the time go faster.

Second,
I didn't think the odometer spun unless the transmation was turning or the car was in full contact of the road. That would mean my cruiser traveled from Mexico in 7 miles. Thats how many miles my cruiser had on it when I drove in off the lot here in FL. Maybe I don't understand your point.

Glad you had a nice time down here and your made it back in tip top shape.

A note about Cracker Barrels, when we stop for lunch, we usually order soup and corn muffins or biskets. 45 minutes tops from the time you sit down. Those items do not have to be cooked as they are always ready in the back. [^]

If the wife's cooking's good, you don't need to.
