The officer said politely, mam why didn't you yield, didn't you see the big yellow sign. The little sweet Asian lady replied. "Yes I did, I yell'd, and I yell'd, and he still did not hear me.

So that explains it! I think some feel signs are merely suggestions - particularly "Bear right except to pass".

I tried to tell my wife speed limit signs are "merely suggestions".

I told the officer that too. He said only on the Autoban.
