Default My wife saw the dragon

Here is the setting. I'm sitting in the driveway on Sunday morning with my son and his girlfriend, as we are going out to breakfast. I showed them my new graphic dragon on my hood. We are waiting for my wife to come out of the house, as I tell my son, get ready for the fireworks, mom hasn't seen the dragon yet. He goes, OH BOY DAD, this otta be good. I was tempted to get out of the car, and stand in front of it, but I figured she would see it eventually. Sure enough, she comes out of the garage, and she stops dead in her tracks looking at it, (I wish I had a camera) she comes over to my window and voices her opinion, "THat is the ugliest thing I have even seen" I guess some people don't understand, its not just a car. Does anyone else get attacked when they mod their car? Gary

Gary,

See the graphic on the side of my wife's new Sportage!

They lasted One Hour. I had the roving shop that does cars on the new car lots put that on for $100. Got home and the wife through a fit. "You can do anything you want to your Cruiser and Vette but leave mine alone!" I spent the next 30 minutes peeling it off. Since it was brand new it came off pretty easy. [:I]

Whenever I even MENTION mods, my daughter (13-year-old know-it-all) goes into her "YOU HAVE OBSESSIVE, COMPULSIVE DISORDER" routine. I think it's just that she sees less $$ to spend on HER.

Funny thing you should ask. I think just about everyone on this forum unless thier single, gets beef about any new mod they put in.
I think it's not just a PT thing. Everyone wants to add their own individuality, & some personality to their car. It says I care about what I drive, I'm industrous, I take care of what I own. Their worse things to spend money on. Just my 2cents. As long as thier no hungery mouths in the house, what is the harm.[8D]

Crewzin, it sounds like we are in the same boat. I think you have it a little easier than me though, my wife ALWAYS makes her opinion known about my mods. That's funny about her graphic though. Gary

Gotta say, my wife is quite tolerant of my car mods - even ones in the past that weren't quite successful. I guess that's why we'll be married 30 years this year.[?]

35 in August for me Don. As I said in my post...I can do anything I want on my cars...just better ask first when it comes to hers. I had put the graphic on as a surprise...she was surprised all right!

I was suprised she hated it so much. She did calm down and let me put a thin double white stripe down the side about 2 inches below the windows running full length

It seems like I cant make even the slightest of statements about mods before I get, "I don't want you going any faster" from my dad, or "You need to save your money" from my mom.
