now it's usually removing a dog fur from the optical sensor!

I have three of these trackballs, and crud removal, ball washing, and compressed air blow-out is a monthly ritual...

duplicating a very old sign that was made sometime after 1908. this is a local sign being copied for a guy that restores furniture. the Roos family had a large building here that manufactured cedar chests and employed about 400 people. kinda different. i believe this sign would have hung in a local furniture store

this is the absolute best silk screening job i've ever seen on something old. everything is lined up and centered perfectly. the letter spacing is a different story though. (:

IMG_0693.jpgRob's post made me think of this cedar chest I refinished.
It had been my maternal grandmother's.
I had it for 30 years or so before I got around to the task.
It looks wonderful now, but I'm sure it lost value by the standards of the "Antique Roadshow" with the loss of the original patina.

ME TOO!!!!! it will likely be slightly less impressive than i'd like. i mean it will be good, but it'll be in vinyl. i'm hesitant to even price it with paint because painting all those little outlines will either cost a fortune or cost me to waste several days of my life for no benefit.

nope. he can if he wants. he restores furniture, so he'd probably be better at it anyhow. no need though, he's going to hang it on a wall in his shop behind the counter. outdoor the vinyl is rated 9-13 years and usually lasts longer. indoors it should outlast him

he brought me 3 of these, but wants to see one completed first. i think he may try to sell them though so IDK. he said everyone that sees the real one tries to buy it

I was just thinking a few slightly yellowed clearcoats might make the vinyl look more like paint...
