OK I feel better now, but here's what happened:
Friday was a busy day. I had a job interview, had to pick up a few things at the store, and get me car washed and waxed up for the Chicagoland PTCruiser Club showing at Riverfront Chrysler in Aurora,IL. Well, it rained like crazy when it came time for the Cruiser's bath, so I had to wait until the sky cleared up. The storm limited the bonding time between me and me cruiser, so when the sky did clear I had to bust arse and get her ready (I hate washing and waxing in the dark.) As I was doing so, I felt a pain in by lower abs and to the right. I went in to lay down, took a Rolaids, and things seemed to get better. It wasn't long before the pain came back again, by this time I was just about finished. Later that evening, the pain was so excruciating. I thought I had some sort of bowel obstruction cuz I was nauseous and vomiting[:0]. So, my wife drove me to the emergency room at 4:00AM. I received the standard emergency room treatment: IV fluids, X-rays, P in a cup, even a CT scan. It wasn't a bowel obstrution after all, but a 3mm KIDNEY STONE barrelling down my ureters toward my bladder (I envision the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark...) At 11:00AM the doctor said that I could go home since I was feeling better, but I gotta bring the stone back to the hospital after I pass it. He also said that that's what they thought it was from the time I came in to the ER. I asked him why they didn't tell me that six hours ago. Well, I felt well enough to catch the tail end of the Cruiser shindig in Aurora. Everyone was packing up ready to make their way home by the time I got there, but I still got to see some familiar faces and meet a few new members. The cars look great, folks. Anyway, take care of yourselves, I wouldn't want even my worst enemy to go through that type of pain. Gotta go, I need pan for gold. |

I had one hit me at work - spent the night at hospital before I passed it. They said it was "good size", I thought it was small - about the size of a BB. They asked, "what did you expect?" I said, "At least the size of a bowling ball".
Good news is - it was over 15 years ago - I haven't changed anything and haven't had another.[?]

The stone passed this morning with not much pain, thank God. Yep, just as the doc said, it was 3mm...WIDE! AND ABOUT 8mm IN LENGTH!... Torpedoes Away!
