Default Ever driven a pacifica?

when i was volunteering at a camp last week one of the directors had a pacifica. well she let me drive it twice. once on the road from shore to shore at the lake. Rides nice and is comfy. the second time someone needed to pick the life guard up so she let me and another counselor while on break to take it up this logging trail. That thing is a beast. just thought i'd share my fun experience. Anyone else driven one?

I test drove one the first few months they were out. It had a nice ride, but IMHO, with the V-6 (250hp) engine, was underpowered and the automatic transmission did not shift smoothly. This "sport touring" vehicle needs a V-8 and fold-down second-row seating to make it "right". The Pacifica has potential if DC makes some needed changes.

If you are thinking about buying a Pacifica I suggest that you drive the new 2005 Dodge Magnum (340hp HEMI V-8/17-24mpg on regular gas) before making a decision: http://www.dodgeboy.net/news/srt8/index.htm

Just my two cents. Good luck.

Hoping to rent one of those for my vacation in October.

My dad has one, his current DCX company car. Employees (in dad's case, retired) got a screamin' employee lease deal on them, so his is absolutely loaded! I got to spend a week driving it while visiting back in good ol' Rochester, MI recenlty. My impressions: Very quite, extremely comfortable, roomy, versatile, well made.......and a total pig!!! My god, that thing can't get out of it's own way and it understeers something fierce!! If I really needed a wagon that size, or similar, I'd go with a Magnum in a heartbeat. Rear wheel drive, three engine choices including the Hemi, and a fair bit less expensive too - a loaded Pacifica runs about $37,000 while a loaded Hemi equipped Magnum is around $34,000 (both before any allowances or incentives). I like the look of the Magnum better as well.

But, of course, these are all personal opinions Your needs/wants/desires may and probably will vary.

Magnum Wagon all the way!! I don't care for SUV's. If I want a want something big it better be a full-size van or some beater-truck.

I also love the new 300C, but I think the Magnum would be more practical.. We need the German Chrysler 300C Station Wagon with AWD! [8D]

Magnum R/T is awesome, test drove one the other day.
Only problem is that the rear storage area is so steeply raked that it is actually shallow.
Couldn't fit my dog back there and it would be tough to transport anything kinda tall (boxes, etc).
Depends on your needs tho.
Magnum is really wide tho and feels big.
