Default Avitar picture

I've got a question about avitar pictures. How do I put one up in my profile? Do I have to upload it to a website, and then put the HTML link into my profile? [:I] Let me know how to do that, I finally got around to taking a good picture of my Cruiser all cleaned up.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,

No one has an aviator picture...at least not on the forum. Do you mean signature picture? If you do, YES, you have to have it up a web site somewhere and place the URL of the photo(http:.....jpg)into your profile.

CREWZIN -

Yea, I meant the profile pictures. I dont know why I said Avitar picture. Thanks for the info though, I will try to upload a photo to my school webpage, and see if it works right. Thanks again!

Matt

EDIT:

Ok, I got my picture up on the website, and the link in my profile, the problem is now, I dont know how to have it automatically load up my picture, it only displays the link to the picture on my website. (which works just fine) My guess is I have to put some HTML in the profile as well? I am pretty new to HTML... Kinda odd, since I am a computer engineering major, and I havent used HTML much at all.. I can program just about anything in C++, Java, Basic, Prolog, Assembly, etc... But I cant get my profile to display my cars picture!!

Matt,

I take it you know how to save the URL from the picture at your web site. Come back here, go into your profile and you'll see a block next to the word "signature". In that block put whatever words you want to show up in your signature and then put [ img]. Then put the URL next to the bracket and end the URL with a closing bracket like this . There should be no spaces from the first braket to the last (I had to use spaces for it to show up here). The URL is taken from the picture itself and starts with "http" and ends with ".jpg"

Here's your PT.

Go back to your profile and add in front of the link and at the end. (take out the spaces)

Something from the forum's FAQ that might help:

"1. Go to one of the free photo sites and start yourself a FREE account. This is where you will be storing the pictures that you want people to see on your forum posts. Think of it is as a public photo album.

2. Once you have your free account you then need to create an album(s) where you will store your pictures. The procedures are very easy on each of the sites listed above.

3. Once you have an album you will then need to upload your pictures from your computer to your photo album. The pictures MUST already be on your computer to do this. Uploading pictures from your computer is generally done with the "Add a Picture" link.

4. Here is the information that you will need to know to get your picture to show properly. In your photo Album just click on the thumbnail picture that you want to show on the forum. Your picture will load up and show on your screen larger than the thumbnail picture. Now you MUST do this part. Click on the newly loaded picture and it will once again load up in another window although this time there will be no text on the screen, only the picture. Here's the important part - At the URL section highlight the entire URL, right mouse click on it and click on copy.

5. Now you can go to the PTCruiserLinks Forum, type in your message and then type [IMG]on a separate line, now right mouse click and click on "Paste" and the picture's URL will be put AFTER the .

(you will know if you have a correct link if it ends in .jpg or.gif, these are the only 2 picture formats that can be used on the forums) Now post your message and the picture will show.

If you want to include a picture into your signature click on the "Profile" section on the PTCruiserLinks Forum, enter your username and password and then in the Signature section do exactly the same procedures that you would use to add a picture into a post. You can also use a picture from someone else's site if you know the exact URL, to find this RIGHT CLICK ON IT. Pictures can be in either a .jpg or a .gif format."
