Its 2:15PM now and I came in here to shut down the computer. We will be losing power by 3PM
Raised the boat as far as possible, took bbq off the dock & brought upto the porch, got important papers and photos but where do I put them? Storm surge 15 to 20 feet and I am sitting at 11 ft. All I did was take a 2 hr nap[xx(] while it was at 110 mph and expected to pass us by 60 miles and now 145 mph and practically hitting me head on. You'll here Sanibel Island on the news and I am about a 15 minute car ride away. Not good. At this point I am getting the laudry room ready for me, son and the dogs. They tell you to get a mattress or two and hide under them. Well, shutting down and will see you in a few days. KingKole is about the same distance north of Sanibel Island. Later, this is bigdogdad signing out.

BDD,

I know your not reading this as your right about Charlie heading right for you. I just turned the computer back on here as the Sheriff just declared that the evacuation order is recinded. All we will see here is some rain and a bit of wind. Most of the power is out where you live and hopefully you'll be back with us soon with little or no damage to you and the family.

The pictures from our local news doesn't look good for the areas that were in the path of the eye. Have only heard of one fatality of a man that was driving in his car. Hope everyone else is OK and the members of this forum are back with us soon. Widespread power outage so it could be awhile.

We left our Manufactured home at 2:00 PM Friday and went 7 miles south to our daughter who lives in a cement block home, still on Merritt Island, with my computer tower, weapons, Rx's, clean clothes, important papers etc. That was about the time Charley decided to take a turn and increase to a Catagory 4. (Andrew was Catagory 5).

We survived safe there and by 11:00 PM Friday the center was North of Orlando and us, heading up I-4 for Daytona Beach. Our lights there flickered a few times, but didn't go out.

I came home about 6:30 AM (Saturday) and found other than a neighbors tree being blown down and took part of mine with it, that was all of the damage. We spent most of the morning just cleaning up that mess. Thank GOD that was all of the damage done here. Most things are back to normal here now, with some rain showers, we now are looking at Tropical Depression 4 which is starting down the same path as Charley did.

Hopefully the rest of the Floridians fared as well!!!!
