Missed me completely. All the others on this forum were pretty much in the path ofCharlie and might be without power. Hope they're all OK and we hear from them soon.

Gonzo,

Power companies from other states are on the way to help. Latest news is that there are fatalities from car crashes (directly related to the storm) and people in mobile homes that either didn't head the warning to evacuate, or got caught by surprise when the storm took a turn inward and took a different path than expected. A lot of damage happened when counties that were expected to get hit, moved their cars, trucks, airplanes etc., inland to avoid the coastal path of the storm and then got hit when Charlie rushed inland and through the state.

Thanks Jimbo. Yea, we got more rain and wind from our regular daily storm yesterday than from Charlie. Now there's another tropical depression out in the Atlantic that's supposed to get to hurricane strength by tomorrow and predicted to head for the Gulf. Will have to wait and see where this one's ends up.

CREWZIN, guess we'll just have to "Hang on" if it comes ashore in FL. Unfortually wherever it hits someone will "be hurting"!!

Just talked to a friend in Orlando. He has a custom 2001 and and 05 White Turbo Convertible. No Garage. Storm went thru and blew over the neighbors tree which just missed his PT's but hit his house. Estimated at 5K in damage.

I'm sure that he considers himself "Very Lucky". Probably easier to get a settlement on his house. Looking at some of the pictures from the Orlando area, $5K is minor damage, and I don't mean that to be negative.

No, your right. It doesn't take a lot to add up to 5K. Think it hit a wall with a window and did some damage to the brickwork and of course the window.
